Borewell price

Borewell

Price

The final price of a drilled well depends on the depth of the well and the depth to the surface soil, which unfortunately cannot be known in advance.

However, our water guarantee begins after 120 meters of drilling unless water has already occurred earlier during drilling, which provides a maximum limit on our customer’s costs.

The chart below gives you an indicative cost structure for a drilled well. The estimates are based on our experience and averages.

Borewell

Rock drilling : On average 60-120m. Drilling is priced per meter. Drilling is only carried out until the required water output is achieved. At 120 meters, our service starts providing a water guarantee to the customer. At 120 meters, a so-called pressure splitting is performed if the water output has not been sufficient during drilling. Surface soil protection pipe: Steel pipe (+plastic pipe), which is installed up to solid rock. In southern Finland, most commonly 3-6m.

Pump : A submersible pump that is installed according to the well’s water yield, water level height, pressure tank placement, and intended use. A well with a low yield requires a more efficient pump than a shallower well. The most commonly installed pumps are 3-phase pumps, but in properties where there is no 3-phase option – a 1-phase pump can also be installed. A high-quality pump can last for many decades with proper maintenance.

Pressure tank : The water system needs a pressure tank to function, which, as the name suggests, produces the necessary pressure in the water system. The pressure tank is installed either in a maintenance well or inside the building. The pressure switch of the pressure tank needs an electrical connection that is connected to the water pump.

Electrical connection : The electrical connection required for the pump, including the motor protection switch, is handled by the customer’s electrician. A protective well (+secret drainage) protects the water pipes, electrical connections and any pressure tank in the well from surface water and freezing. We provide good instructions for making a protective well.

Borewell price – What is included in the cost?

The cost of a well is a complex combination of several components. By better understanding these factors, you can anticipate costs and avoid surprises. As mentioned earlier, the final cost of a well is affected by the depth of the well and the soil conditions. These are variables that are impossible to know in advance.

The drilling itself plays a key role in the formation of costs. Drilling is priced per meter, and the drilling depth varies by region, so it is one of the most significant factors in the total costs. Another important element is the surface soil protection pipe. Its need and length depend on the quality of the soil and the installation depth.

In addition, the price is affected by various components and installations, such as a submersible pump, a pressure tank and their electrical connections. The selection and installation of these parts are influenced by the well yield, water level height and the electrification of the property. These factors and their installation with protective wells ensure that the water system is functional and safe. All these parts together determine the final price of a borewell. Frequently asked questions

How deep does a well have to be drilled to find water?

The depth of the drilling depends on the bedrock and groundwater level in the area. Usually, sufficient water can be found at a depth of 60–120 meters. Our water guarantee starts at a depth of 120 meters, which means that at that point we will ensure water supply or reimburse the costs as agreed.

How long does it take to install a borewell?

Installing a borewell is usually a quick process. The drilling itself often takes only 1-2 days, depending on the conditions. The entire installation project, including the installation of pumps and other equipment, is often completed in a few days.

Is the water from a borewell drinkable?

Water from a borewell is usually very clean and suitable for drinking. However, it is always a good idea to verify the quality of the water with a water analysis, which is recommended after drilling. If necessary, the water can be treated with filters to ensure that it meets all quality requirements.
